UnitOps is for companies that hire out equipment and staff events — AV, production, marquees, plant, anything that leaves a warehouse and has to come back. It keeps track of what you own, where it is, who has it, who is working, what still needs testing or fixing, and what has been invoiced.
Four things, in the order you would actually do them.
Add what you own as a catalogue of products, then the individual units underneath — each with its own asset number, serial number and warehouse location. That split is what lets you say which of your eight identical speakers is in for repair.
Create the event, attach the client, and add the kit and the crew it needs. The calendar shows what is committed and when, so the same flight case does not go to two places on the same Saturday.
PAT tests are recorded and scheduled per item, with certificates and labels you can print. Faults get reported against the item, tracked through repair, and costed — so the history follows the thing itself.
Raise an estimate, turn it into an invoice when it is accepted, and record payments against it. VAT, your payment details and your terms are set once and printed on every document.
One system, rather than a spreadsheet for each of these.
A product catalogue with individual items beneath it. Asset and serial numbers, purchase details, status, and the warehouse location each unit lives in.
Jobs with dates, a client, the equipment allocated to them and the crew assigned. A calendar view for the month you are worried about.
Test results per item, retest schedules, printable certificates and labels, and reports showing what is overdue before somebody else asks.
Report a fault against the item that has it. Track the repair, record parts and costs, and keep the history where the next person will look for it.
A staff directory with skills, certifications and their expiry, plus availability and leave — so you know who can legally do the job and who is around to do it.
Quote a job, convert the accepted estimate to an invoice, record payments and see what is outstanding. VAT handled, or left off entirely if you are not registered.
Plenty of people crew for more than one firm. In UnitOps your email and password identify you, and each company you work for hangs off that one login. You switch between them from the header, and neither company can see the other's events, stock or clients — or that the other exists.
Half of what this software is for happens standing in a warehouse aisle or sitting in a van. Every screen is built and checked at phone size, not shrunk down from a desktop layout and hoped for the best.
Four plans, each one a bundle of modules for less than those modules cost separately. Or buy a single module and add it to whatever plan you are on. Every price is for the whole company — add as many people as you like.
Kit, bookings and customers - the three things a hire business cannot run without.
